Confusion abounds as the sun begins to set. The Baker [info]amphitrite27 and the Brewer [info]hungryandhollow stack wood around a pole stuck in the ground in the Village Square. The Vintner [info]giantlaser pours fuel onto the wood.

"Don't burn me! I don't want to die!" shouts the Tailor [info]lorriet.
"It must be the Tanner [info]gnatdbug!" shouts the Sheepherd [info]daedalus4096. "I saw him stretch a skin on a frame that looked like the dead Goodwife!"
"Burn the Wolf!" chant the Villagers.

"Damn you all!" shouts [info]gnatdbug as he's lashed to the pole. His screams last for minutes while the flames lick his body.

Morning dawns dreary over the Village, but the sky has a promise of sunshine in it. Despite the wicked howls in the night, no one has perished.

I SUSPECT that [info]parzanese was attacked last night (because he claimed SEER status), and that he was saved by the WITCH. This would explain his villification of the BODYGUARD.

This, of course, is all predicated on the notion that [info]parzanese is not a WOLF - a fact of which I am not totally convinced.

The bodyguard could have chosen to protect him and he's covering it up. If I were the witch I wouldn't have wasted a potion this early in the game.

if I was attacked last night and saved by the witch, wouldn't the odds of me not being a wolf be pretty high . . . I mean come on, even I'm not so gutsy as to try and eat me when I haven't done anything neat to convince the witch to save me . . . arresting myself after I had handed a narc over to you is one thing, eating myself after doing nothing spectacular to help the village is the riskiest thing I can think of doing if I was a wolf . . .

You are clouding my logic. Of course the odds of your not being a wolf would be very high. I would expect you to be far more clever than to try eating yourself again this earlier in the game.

My point was that I suspect the first part (the attempt to eat you), which is based on the second part (the assumption that you are not a wofl) - except that I have doubts about the first part because I am not entirely convinced that you are not a wolf.

You are making no sense. You completely misread what I said, and now you are attacking me because I suggested a scenario in which you would be more or less exhonerated, just because I said I am not entirely convinced that you are not a wolf?

How could I possible be entirely convinced that you are not a wolf this early in the game? Or at all, for that matter? Being that this is a blind game, so it is virtually impossible to be sure.

I don't care what you say about me possibly being a wolf or not . . . or about any of your doubts . . . you're recap of last night's events is WAY TOO ACCURATE . . . almost always when a VILLAGER and not a WOLF brings up their suspicions on what happened the night before when someone didn't die, it's always with lots of doubt and a list of possibilities . . . yours contains almost none of that . . . instead you come out with one theory on last night's events that's DEAD ON and then say "oh and by the way [info]parzanese might be a wolf" . . . the last line being classic wolf speak . . . now when I call you on it, you vote for me too . . .

I don't need to cry wolf on this one . . . you're practically howling . . .

and if you doubt me, look at other games, where someone is saved, there's usually a 1) blah blah blah or 2) blah blah blah or 3) blah blah blah . . . but not you, you just come out and recap last night's events to a T! . . .

NO, in fact he is CLAIMING that he was saved by the witch.

He gave us a very obivous clue by saying the following:

From which I deduced that he was implying that the bodyguard had not protected someone (namely him) and that someone had been saved by the witch. He is voting for me because I stated what he obviously intended for everyone to deduce. He does this, claiming that only a WOLF could give such an accurate account of what happened. Why would he do that when also the WITCH could give such an account? It is a clear attempt at misdirection.

Fact: [info]parzanese is voting for me because I (supposedly) correctly interpreted his statement about the BODYGUARD.

Fact: I am not a wolf. But the more [info]parzanese yammers, the more I'm starting to think HE is.

There is no way anyone could give you ANY shred of proof of their innocence in this game, and you know it.

These are potentials that come out of this scenario:

1) The witch saved [info]Parzanese from the wolves. The witch is not [info]Parzanese or [info]The1Mouse.
2) [info]Parzanese is the witch and saved himself from the wolves.
3) [info]The1Mouse is the witch and saved [info]Parzanese from the wolves (and is regretting it).
4) [info]The1Mouse is a wolf and attempted to eat Parazanese who was then saved by the witch.
5) [info]The1Mouse is a villager who made a good guess because she was paying attention to what [info]Parzanese was saying.
6) [info]Parzanese is a wolf and is running a gambit on the Villagers.
7) [info]Parzanese is a villager or some other special and is trying to run a gambit on the Wolves.

I CLAIM that I am not the WITCH. I am, in fact, just a flippin' VILLAGER.
I also CLAIM that I am not a WOLF.

In the very first game, when the witch saved someone, I hypothesized the correct scenario with no trace of doubt because it seemed the only explanation. And I was a villager. Of course, there was no bodyguard.

from what I've noticed in the past, most villager posts the day after a failed werewolf attack look like [info]infohazard's not [info]the1mouse . . . [info]infohazard had three plausible possibilities whereas [info]the1mouse immediately came up with one (and the right one too with no doubt there what so ever) and then after giving this possibility attacks me by saying she's not convinced I'm not a wolf . . .

man i wish i had a blankie.

i think people who don't post could totally be wolves (although i, unsurprisingly) am not. i am not a wolf as per my request to the ehavens above sat night that I not be a special or a naughty one, since i'm still slow on the game.

apparantly i got one of my saturday wishes granted. and i am no one, and i do not post. but when i am a naughty one i usually don't post either. the mudd slinging without info makes me uncomfortable, as it may make others....

so i think [info]parzanese and [info]the1mouse throwing so much mudd at each other is interesting.

anyone wanna see if [info]parzanese finds another scapegoat before tomorrow? could be all this arguing is a cover up to allay suspicion.

Come to think of it, if you're lying, the real victim and whoever saved the real victim both know you're lying. They probably would have voted against you early on rather than bandwagoning on your vote.

course there was a big difference last time as I had just gotten one of my fellow narcs arrested and was real high on everyone's we-like-joe list . . . yesterday I did nothing of note to make me think if I was a wolf that I would have had a realistic chance of being saved by the witch especially since most witches like to save the potion for later in the game . . .

you're a very good player, you're a very inventive and risk taking player.

for god's sake, you voted to attack yourself, a strong firm, and hard to predict/beleive gambit.

I'm not saying you're doing that again, but in a way you are too good to be trusted in a blind game. seems like our ability to strategize is severely diminished, so if we can't trust what you say, if we can't guess at what motives are behind your actions, you may actually be more dangerous just due to your unpredictability.

basically i don't trust people if i can't understand their motivations or predict their actions at all, especially in a blind game where it would be very easy for a wolf to lead the group to wrack and ruin. now you may not be lying, you may be a villager saved by the witch.

or you could be making the whole thing up, as a wolf, who would know that the witch saved someone, and that it is probably in their best interest to stay silent. in a blind game, if there are two people claiming "A", then both will be killed, period. so if you are a lying wolf, while not coming forward might allow you to hurt the group a little as a wolf in disguise, coming forward is a guaranteed villager death (and while it should guarantee a wolf death as well, the villagers might wuss out on killing the wolf, thinking they were safe).

so what do we do?

any suggestions about how to create a villager win? any strateggy? its alo often easy to find the wolves, they don't talk strategy, they just point fingers and yell, and talk about "facts" without setting out any strategies for a villager win.

ok as to me voting for myself as a narc, it came after I had just turned a narc over to the game . . . I was riding a very "we all love joe" high and my chances of being saved by the witch (if he hadn't been inactive) were probably pretty good . . . I had none of that last night . . .

actually if I were a wolf and claimed to have been saved by the witch, you and everyone else wouldn't have to do a thing . . . the witch would in fact know that I had not been saved, and you'll all find me poisoned tomorrow . . . there is no wussing out there by the village . . . the witch would know I was lying and just take care of the issue tonight . . . lying about being saved by the witch is very risky while they still have their poison and almost guarantees death . . .

as to strategy, trust me I've been trying to come up with one . . . but so far, I haven't come up with a sound one . . . ideally the notary, the priest and the seer will all still be alive tomorrow . . . and if they are, I'd hope they would try and come forward and give us some information . . . at least at that point we can find out if we have killed off any wolves, if the seer has found any wolves and who's not a wolf, and maybe even find out some info from the notary (who apparently hasn't gotten anything yet since gnat said he wasn't going to leave a last will) . . .

I actually think the claim game might have been partially useful as the priest can verify if the seer dies if he gets lucky (and remains alive), but then, of course we have no way of validating the priest . . .

as a side note, you've moved down somewhat on my list of suspects now . . .
